Archie Pelago — the trio of Hirshi, Kroba, and Cosmo D — rolls through WNYU this Wednesday to play Table Tennis’s first ever live set. Even if I’d played host to 50 live sets, though, this one would be special. Combining the low-end and any-genre-goes attitude of contemporary bass music with the sophisticated chords and adventurism of jazz and improvisation, Archie is onto something very special. Word from the dudes is that their set will feature 90% new material. So like, I know I say this every time I write one of these posts, but seriously, y’all: this will be big.
